Where are the limits between internal and external worlds? How much do our outer surroundings affect who we are inside? What tools of translation have we used to understand the world?

 

How we interpret life around us is constructed through a series of perceptions and experiences that shape our world view. Yet often, the more you understand a subject, the more you realise you do not understand it at all. This piece seeks to explore the arbitrary. The liminal line in-between what’s sensical. The ephemeral thoughts that race into ones head only to fade out never to be remembered.

 

Feelings, much like senses, form layers over time. They stack to create temporarily concrete feelings. There is power in letting go of sense. Some things can simply not be translated and their beauty must be admired in the present.

 

Participants were encouraged to wear the exhibited mask. Reflect on whether they feel more hidden or seen whilst wearing them and why they chose which one they chose. Does it reflect your internal or external world?
