Interactive Performance Piece

I used the exhibition space to bring light to current UK immigration policy by using the exit to mimic the immigration process and monitor the exit as an entrance to the UK .

Gallery visitors were divided into UK born nationals and immigrants (up to three generations). Immigrants were welcomed to enter the UK freely without questioning and born nationals had to answer questions based on the real life residency tests. 

If participants failed, they could not enter the UK (exit the building) and instead had to subscribe to voluntary return home service and leave through the fire exit which brought them back to me.

The piece raised questions on immigration policy and freedom of movement.
